Summary

Dungeon Boon collects no personal data. The game contains no ads, no analytics or tracking tools and no third-party libraries for data collection. It needs no user account and has no server of its own: there is no own online leaderboard and no own crash reporting. Your game progress stays on your device. Leaderboards and achievements run only through Apple’s Game Center, if you sign in there.

What is stored on your device

Your game progress (runs in progress, progress, Sanctum upgrades, best scores) and your settings (for example language and sound) are stored locally on your device, in the app settings (UserDefaults). They are not sent to us and not synced via iCloud or any other service. You delete them by deleting the app.

Earlier test versions had their own online leaderboard and their own crash reports. Both have been removed. Any leftovers still stored on the device (a player name for the old leaderboard and unsent crash reports) are deleted by the app on its next launch.

Game Center (Apple): leaderboards and achievements

The game uses Apple’s Game Center for achievements and for two Endless mode leaderboards (deepest floor and high score). Signing in is optional; without signing in you simply keep playing and nothing is sent. When you are signed in, the game reports your achievement progress and your best scores to Apple. Other players see your Game Center name and your score on the leaderboards; what appears there and who can see it is set in your Game Center profile in the iOS Settings.

Your Game Center player ID, your profile and the leaderboard and achievement entries are processed by Apple alone; we do not receive them on a server of our own and do not store them. Apple’s privacy terms apply (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/).

Crash reports from Apple

The app itself sends no crash reports. If you have allowed sharing analytics with developers in iOS, or you test via TestFlight, Apple provides us with crash reports that contain no information about you as a person. These reports are collected by Apple, not by the app; you control this in the iOS Settings under Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements.

Permissions and identifiers

The app asks for no permissions (no camera, microphone, photos, location, contacts or notifications). It does not read an advertising identifier and does not use tracking in the sense of Apple’s App Tracking Transparency.

Disclosure to third parties

We receive no data from you and therefore pass none on. If you sign in to Game Center, Apple receives your achievements and best scores (see above).

Purchase via the App Store

Download and purchase run through Apple’s App Store (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/). Apple alone processes payment data; we receive no payment data and no information about you. The app has no in-app purchases and no subscription.

Children

The app has no ads, no chat, no purchases, no text input and no links to the internet. Leaderboards only show Game Center names, which Apple manages.

Your rights

You have the rights under the General Data Protection Regulation: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection, withdrawal of consent and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. We store no data about you; you delete your local progress yourself (see above). For data in Game Center, for example leaderboard entries, please contact Apple.

Changes

I will update this policy when the app changes, before the change is released. The current version is available at this address.
